Would you like to volunteer?  Start here.

For those 16 years and older who love horses and helping others, the following are opportunities for you to get involved.  Use the Contact Us page to let us know of your interest.

Be a leader

Picture
As a leader, you will control the horse as it walks around the ring and follows patterns until the rider is comfortable controlling the horse on his or her own.  The volunteer will stay available throughout the session.

Be a walk-along

Picture
A walk-along is a volunteer who stays beside the client as he or she grooms the horse and as the client rides around the arena to provide safety and support until the client is comfortable riding alone.  The volunteer will stay available throughout the session.

Be a fundraiser

Picture
Hope and Healing Horse Therapy Ranch is a nonprofit organization which relies on grants, donations, and fundraising to sustain itself.  By volunteering to fundraise, you will be helping to keep Hope and Healing available for those who suffer from PTSD.  Bring the message of horse therapy to the community, sell quality shirts, pass out pamphlets, talk to donors, and bring your own ideas for fundraising to the staff.

Get school credit

High school and college students may get credit for volunteering.  We can work with your school to help you in recognizing extra credit for your work in Hippotherapy.
