We have moved into our more permanent facility, but still have much to do.  The horses are adjusting well and as we remember those who first gave their lives in the fight against terrorism, we feel the great need for this program to help those who suffer the effects of surviving that day.

For those of us enjoying our family, friends, and freedom: Happy Memorial Day!
For those of us who gave "some" in defense of our freedom:  Thank you.


For those of us grieving the loss of one who gave all:  May you find peace and comfort in knowing we have not forgotten.

For those who gave all:  Thank you is never enough, but is said from the heart and we honor you this weekend by enjoying what you have died to protect.

May we never forget that Freedom isn't Free!!!

We have been working very hard with both Mike and Shadow and making great progress.  They have both started going down the trail, out of the arena and staying calm yet alert.  While Shadow still doesn't have the "neck reining" down, Mike does very well with that.  However, Shadow does respond well to the bit.  There was a beautiful black horse with a limp from a hurt leg, who lost the limp when he saw Shadow and started running around the pasture.  Shadow was keen to follow, but listened well to the bit and reins.  I see them both changing lives in the very near future!

Mike has arrived! We met Mike today and he is a beautiful, wonderful quarter horse... who does not like popsicles! :) We will post pictures and his bio on the "Therapists" page as soon as I get them down loaded and we get to know him - there is a cute picture of him meeting Shadow. Wish us luck in transforming him into a therapy horse!!

It has been a while since I've added any updates, but do update the FaceBook page, so "like" that page to know our comings and goings.  We do have a new horse coming in this weekend - Mike.  Wish us luck with him and we will post information on our new therapist when we get to know him a bit.  Until then, have a very Happy Easter!!

We finally got Shadow safely transported to El Paso and are looking forward to what the New Year brings to Hope & Healing.  May 2011 be a wonderful year for you and yours!

We finally got it!  We have been approved as a 501(c)(3) status corporation!  We can't wait to get started!

Progress 10/22/2010
 
We are making progress with our first horse, Shadow, and with our 501(c)(3) application.  Hope to have a positive answer on that status soon.  Any step forward is great!
